The history of this commercially busy city originally goes back many years ago when it is said to have been inhabited by the Tequesta Indians. But it got officially incorporated only in 1896 on the 28 of July. In the early years of its settlement by Americans, Miami was more like a wasteland which was turned into the flourishing Miami city we now know of. Through the years Miami has stood bravely against a thousand odds including the Great Depression of the 1930’s and Hurricane Andrew in 1997. A historical increase in Miami population happened after Fidel Castro’s rise in 1959.

The city enjoys an abundant amount of rainfall and in this respect ranks the highest in the country. Economically, this city has a flourishing business community and the biggest multinational corporations are seen to have their headquarters here. Tourism is a major contributor to the gross product of Miami. The city has an infrastructure to boast of and is home to one of the busiest airports in the world, the International Airport.
