The Town of Miami Lakes has over 27,000 inhabitants. This very young town became a city very recently in the year 2000. Illustrious Miami Dolphins football coach Don Shula is regarded as a hero in this town and is reflected in the Don Shula’s hotel, athletic and tennis club and famous restaurant. The place is still growing and has beautiful and elegant homes, town homes and condos. Main Street is a wonderful spot to frequent with excellent and upscale shops, theaters, and restaurants. Over 1,700 businesses are based in this city due to location and its small town tradition.
The Graham companies started the work on this town over forty years ago and as a planned community. The Grahams still have a big stake in the town in the form of office buildings, shopping centers and undeveloped land. This agricultural community has come a long way and now is consider one of the best neighborhoods in Dade County Florida with excellent parks, churches, schools and homes.
